LWPT FOR MILITARY AND LAW RECRUITS

Attacking the obesity epidemic and improving the fitness of potential candidates

According to Mission: Readiness (www.missionreadiness.org), a nonprofit, bi-partisan organization led by senior retired military leaders ensuring continued American security and prosperity into the 21st century by calling for smart investments in the next generation of American children, whose Executive Advisory Council is a bi-partisan contingent of retired senior military leaders and former members of the Cabinet:

75% of potential American recruits are unable to enlist in the armed services because they are physically unfit

This means that in the USA is turning away over 26 million potential recruits primarily due to the recruits being too out of shape to serve. The cost of this to the country's national security in real dollars (as well as potential loss of capability) are staggering

In keeping with First Lady Obama's Let's Move project, as well as the Mission: Readiness recommendations to support what we are trying so hard to do; i.e. improve the fitness of potential military recruits so we no longer lose the millions of potentially qualified military recruits that we currently are suffering.

Recruiting stations nationwide are being forced to deal with an ever increasing pool of potential recruits who are more and more de-conditioned physically. Teen obesity has grown to epidemic proportions in the United States. The US Department of Health and Human Services recently published teen obesity statistics regarding this dangerous trend. According to the report, 14% of adolescents in the United States are overweight. This figure has nearly tripled in the last 20 years. The cause of teen obesity is generally lack of physical activity combined with unhealthy eating habits. One survey showed 43% of adolescents watched more than two hours of television per day. Daily physical education has been eliminated from a lot of schools.

The Legion Warrior PT program attacks this problem by providing certification of at least one Recruiting Office personnel at each needed recruiting facility in the Legion Warrior PT system to ensure that recruits have access to an effective training system during their work-up period. This will give effective physical training tools and knowledge to at least one of the recruiting personnel at every recruiting station and ensure recruits enter Initial Training at a high fitness level, saving your organization millions per year and putting elite level fit personnel in the field at a faster and more efficient rate.
